Great River Technology (GRT) is a leader in high-performance digital video and data development tools and services for the mil/aero industry. Since its founding in 1996, it has developed partnerships with leading commercial and military companies worldwide: Airbus, Boeing, Rockwell Collins, Thales, Honeywell, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Elbit, EADS, BAE, General Dynamics, and many others.
GRT focuses on products that simplify the design and implementation of mission-critical systems for cockpit displays, graphics generators, infrared sensors and optical cameras, and flight simulators. Design and research labs, production and maintenance facilities, and flight-test and production aircraft employ its products. Early on, the company focused on HOTLink II™ and FC-AV applications and continues to support these systems.
ARINC 818 and ARINC 818-2
As GRT entered its second decade, its personnel took part in developing a new protocol for high-bandwidth, low-latency, uncompressed digital video transmission—ARINC 818.
Adopted in January 2007, the protocol became a commercial standard and de facto military standard. In the years since, GRT pioneered custom applications, which laid the groundwork for a revised standard late in 2013. GRT served as industry editor during the revision process leading to ARINC 818-2. In 2014, the company followed up with the introduction of two series of big-box systems and recorders. Today, we remain the world leader in implementation of ARINC 818, offering engineering services, production hardware, and IP as well as developmental products in support of ARINC 818 systems.
The company has expanded steadily into the international marketplace. A substantial percentage of its business is international, with exports to China, Estonia, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and other countries. GRT has representatives across the United States and distributors in seven countries.
As part of our commitment to partners, distributors, and employees, we instituted a Quality Management System in 2006 and received ISO 9001 certification in 2010. GRT is continually improving products and services to meet or exceed customer requirements.
GRT has enjoyed increasing revenue since its inception. Its growth has been recognized by the technology sector in the U.S. Southwest. For fifteen consecutive years, the company been recognized as a Flying 40 company by New Mexico Technology, an organization that spotlights outstanding technology companies in New Mexico. In 2013, we was also recognized among New Mexico's fastest growing companies, by the weekly journal Albuquerque Business First for sustained growth between 2010 and 2012.
