Company Description: Great River Technology specializes in high performance digital video development tools and services for Aerospace and Military customers. GRT's products simplify the design and implementation of system-critical video and data transmission for cockpit displays, avionics graphics generators, infrared cameras and sensing, and flight simulators. GRT's tools are used in design and research labs, production facilities, flight-test aircraft, and flight maintenance facilities. GRT offers both custom and "off-the-shelf" board level products for real-time, high-speed and low latency video links and point-to-point data transmission using fiber optics.

HL2D: Hotlink 2 Data – High Speed data communications using HOTLink
HL2V: Hotlink 2 Video – Captures video images from infrared and visual cameras
FCAV: Fibre Channel Audio Video – Drives cockpit displays and avionics mission processors, based on emerging standards for uncompressed aerospace digital video

Services: GRT offers custom hardware, firmware and software design for uncompressed video and data applications.

Applications: Many of the projects that GRT works on are confidential, but typical applications include: · Video capture (frame grabber) to a PC from a visual camera or IR sensor for development of image processing applications and hardware · Emulation of a camera or IR sensor for development or factory test applications · Point to point data transmission for satellite and communications systems · Conversion of DVI video or graphics to FCAV format for aviation displays · Graphics or video generator for development and test of aviation displays and mission processors

History: Great River Technology, Inc. (GRT) was founded in 1996 by Jon Alexander as an engineering services and consulting company. Over the last 9 years, GRT has worked for many of the leading Aerospace and Military contractors and suppliers. Over that time, GRT has developed numerous hardware and software solutions that have been the foundation of GRT’s three product lines: HL2D, HL2V, and FC-AV.

Principals:

Jon Alexander (MSEE, MBA) – President, CEO, and Director: Jon founded GRT in the fall of 1996, after 11 years in engineering and strategic marketing for companies, including: Honeywell, Mission Research Corp. AMD, and Amtech Systems. Jon has an MSEE from the University of New Mexico, and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Texas, Austin.

Dave Cole – Design Engineer and Director: Dave joined Great River in 1997 as a hardware and software design engineer. He worked as a Systems Engineer at Honeywell for 9 years, and a software and digital design engineer at Amtech. Dave serves on the board of directors of GRT.

Tim Keller (MSEE) – Director of Marketing: Tim joined Great River in 2005. Previously, he worked as a principal and systems engineer at Honeywell for 16 years, and as president of Progressive Language, Inc. for 5 years.
