HOTLinkTM Serial Link Analyzer - HSLA
The HSLA is a low-cost data recorder and diagnostics tool for 8B/10B encoded HOTLink systems. Each HSLA is preconfigured for a specific link speed (between 160Mbps to 1.0625 Gbps), and a connector type - copper (BNC, FCN, or SMA) or optical. The HL2View software makes data capture and analysis quick and easy.

Proven, High Speed Hardware
The Hotlink Protocol Analyzer is built on Great River Technology’s robust GRAVity product family. Using PCI 64bit/66Mhz technology, the hardware captures raw HOTLink data including status bits for link speeds of 160Mbps (16MBps) to 1.0625Mbps (106.25MBps). Capture depth is 2GB, which will provide between 18s to 125s of capture, depending on link speed. The HSLA offers a cost effective means to capture and analyze raw Hotlink data for a number of different PHY’s.

HL2View: Intutitive Application Software
The HL2View software offers ease of use with the power to analyze and debug Hotlink interfaces. The feature rich application makes “seeing“ what is on the wire as easy as the push of a button. The time scale histogram quickly identifies idle characters from data characters. The programmable color coded data display shows time and offset of the data when it was received. HL2View makes analysis of Hotlink interfaces fast and productive.

Data Packet Generator

With the HSLA, it is easy to capture and analyze both simple and complex protocols.

Video Frame Generator
With the HSLA it is easy to capture, analyze and generate complex video formats. The generator is ideal for IR sensor simulation.

Data Router/Control
With the HSLA it is easy to control the HOTLink II data path. The data router allows the use to split, repeat, duplicate and line spy on both HOTLink II channels.

Full-Featured Analysis Software
The HSLA comes standard with HL2View software that runs under Windows. HL2View is an easy to use, GUI based application to configure the HSLA hardware, set up triggers, and view trace data. The data generator option configures the packet generator, and initiates playout of data. The video generator option configures the vdeo output generator.

HSLA can save Time and Money
Hotlink interfaces come in a variety of formats. Each data source can have its own unique set of parameters. The HSLA gives engineers the ability to see data on the link. Seeing the data helps debug and trouble shoot system issues saving time and money.

Optional Playback and Diagnostics Data Generator and Video Generator
The HSLA hardware data and video generator allows the user to place a known pattern of data or video on the link, which is useful for throughput analysis and system diagostics. The data and video generator operates at the hardware level and does not impact system bandwidth. The data generator allows the user to configure a SOM, the number of bytes in a packet, a EOM, and the number of idles between packets. The packet data can increment on each character, or increment on each packet. The video generator is a fully programmable feature to emmulate HOTLinkTM video protocols. Additionally, a recorded data trace can be modified and played back.

The HSLA is the Right Tool at the Right Price
Great River Technology’s HSLA is a state of the art Hotlink data capture, analysis, and playback tool, and is a fraction the price of protocol analyzers.
